The Alabama Hills are located on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada mountains, along the foothills of Mt. Whitney. It can be easily seen that the rounded countours of the Hills contrast with the sharp edges of the Sierras. This area is managed by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management, and therefore, is a protected area.
